Travel verbs: we catch a bus or a train when we get there in time, and we miss it when we are late. A plane lands when it comes down at the airport (infinitive: land), and we get off a bus or a train when we arrive.
To compare, use -er than or the -est: The coach is cheaper than the train, but the bus is the cheapest.
Last spring, Jake's class travelled from London to Paris on the Eurostar, a high-speed train. The train goes through the Channel Tunnel, a very long tunnel under the sea between England and France. The journey took about two and a half hours.
Their teacher chose the train for two reasons: it pollutes much less than a plane, and it goes from the centre of London to the centre of Paris, so they didn't need to travel to an airport. In Paris, the class went on a boat trip on the River Seine and climbed the Eiffel Tower.
