Adjectives describe things. big (grande) ↔ small (pequeño) talk about size; fast (rápido) ↔ slow (lento) talk about speed. very = muy: very fast.

El adjetivo va delante del nombre y nunca lleva -s: a big dog, two big dogs. También puede ir después de is / are: The dogs are big.
